Co-axial cable

In this topic, you will learn about, Co-axial cable.

It is the most secure and fastest transmission medium it’s generally used with DTH or other entertainment or communication medium. It supports a 1 GB transmission speed. It consists of one or more layers of the cable. It is expensive but better than a twisted pair cable. Co-axial cable generally uses conductor insulator and protective wire.

Advantages of Co-axial cable:

  1. It cannot be harmed by electricity due to the use of copper wire which is a good conductor of electricity.
  2. It is very hard and strong because it uses three or four layers of plastic coating along with the metal coating.

Disadvantages of Co-axial cable:

  1. It is very difficult to plug or combine.
  2. It is very expensive than twisted pair cable.
